Quick answer
The highest-rated landscaping company in New Jersey on Local Landscaping is TruGreen South Plainfield, with 4.9 out of 5 from 732 reviews (Google). We ranked 58 businesses with at least 5 reviews by a review-weighted rating, so a high score from a handful of reviews does not outrank a slightly lower score from hundreds.

How we rank
- Only businesses based in New Jersey with at least 5 reviews are compared.
- Only independent review platforms count: Google, Yelp, Angi and HomeAdvisor, Houzz, Facebook, BBB, Thumbtack and Porch (each linked and dated), plus reviews written by signed-in users on Local Landscaping.
- Ratings published on a company's own website or in review widgets the company controls are shown on its profile but never used to rank.
- We rank by a weighted rating that adds 20 average reviews to every business, so 5.0 from 6 reviews does not beat 4.8 from 300.
- Sponsorship, claimed status and advertising have no effect on the order.
- A rating is a signal, not a guarantee. Check services and service areas, and compare written quotes before you hire.
Frequently asked questions
What is the highest-rated landscaping company in New Jersey?
TruGreen South Plainfield ranks first, with 4.9 out of 5 from 732 reviews. Scenic View Landscaping & Design Specialist is second and Decks By Ziec third.
How is this ranking calculated?
Each business needs at least 5 reviews. We combine its rating from an independent review platform (Google, Yelp, Angi, HomeAdvisor, Houzz, Facebook, BBB, Thumbtack or Porch, with the date we collected it) with reviews written on Local Landscaping. Ratings from a company's own website or review widgets it controls are not used, then use a weighted average that adds 20 "average" reviews to every business. That keeps a perfect score from a few reviews from beating a strong score from many.
Can a business pay to rank higher?
No. Sponsored placement and claimed listings have no effect on this ranking. Only review ratings and review counts do.
Is the highest-rated company the right one for my project?
Not always. Ratings show past customer satisfaction, not price, availability or whether a company does your type of work. Check the services and areas each business lists, and get written quotes from at least two or three before you hire.
How can my business appear on this list?
Add or claim your free listing, then ask your customers to leave reviews. Reviews on Local Landscaping count toward the ranking as soon as they are published.
