How Local Landscaping collects, uses, shares, and protects your information.

Last updated: October 1, 2026

What we collect

We collect the information you give us: account details when you register, business information when you submit or claim a listing, and the details you provide in a quote request (your name, contact information, project description, timeline, and any photos you choose to upload).

When you create an account, sign in, add or edit a listing, post a review, claim a listing or request a quote, we also record technical details of that action: your IP address, an approximate location derived from it (country, region and city), your browser and device type, and for new accounts the page you first arrived on and the site that referred you. We use this to prevent spam, fraud and fake reviews, and to understand how people find us. These records are kept for 12 months and then deleted.

When you use the site search we record the search terms and filters, the number of results, which listing you click, and an approximate location (country, region, city). Searches are not linked to your name, account or IP address, and are deleted after 12 months.

Public business listings contain only information that is public or provided by the business owner, business name, services, service areas, public contact details, and hours when known. We do not publish private home addresses.

How we use it

We use your information to operate the directory: to display listings, to match quote requests with businesses by their stated service areas, to deliver those requests to the businesses you selected, and to keep accounts and listings secure.

Quote requests are shared only with the businesses you explicitly choose, and only after you consent to the sharing in the quote flow. We record your consent and the delivery status of each request.

We never sell your personal information, and we never share customer project photos outside the businesses you selected in a quote request.

What we do not do

We do not invent ratings, testimonials, or customer counts, and we do not let advertisers influence listing accuracy. Ratings collected from other sites are labeled with their source; reviews written here are never removed for being negative. Sponsored placements are labeled, never disguised.

We do not expose private contact details of business owners who have not published them, and we do not contact prospects on behalf of businesses without permission.

Cookies and sessions

We use a signed session cookie to keep you signed in and to protect your account. It is set only when you use account features; browsing the public directory does not require it.

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed and how people arrive. It sets its own cookies and Google processes this data under its privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). You can opt out with Google's browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

We do not use third-party advertising trackers on public directory pages.

Data retention and deletion

You can request a copy or deletion of your personal data at any time by writing to our support address. We delete customer quote data on request, subject to any legal retention obligations we will explain plainly.

Business owners may update or remove their listing data through their account; corrections submitted by the public go through our data-correction review queue.

Security

Accounts are protected with hashed passwords and signed session tokens. Quote-request photos are stored privately, never as public listing images. Listing changes and claim approvals are logged in an audit trail.

If messaging or email delivery is ever unconfigured, we save quote requests and show their real status as “pending”, we never claim a request was delivered when it was not.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes in a way that affects how your data is used, we will update this page and note the change. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
